Why this platform exists
A generation of owners is approaching retirement, and the people best positioned to carry their firms forward — licensed directors, family successors, regional operators — rarely hear about opportunities until they're gone.
Deals here move quietly
An owner who is thinking about selling can't afford for staff, competitors, or the families they serve to find out. So opportunities pass by word of mouth, and buyers outside the inner circle never see them.
The market is scattered
What is publicly listed is spread across general business marketplaces, specialist brokers, and trade classifieds — each with its own formats and none with the metrics this profession actually runs on.
Both sides deserve better
Sellers deserve a confidential way to explore their options. Buyers deserve to see the whole market. Funeral Succession is built to serve both without forcing either to give up discretion.
How we work
We aggregate, honestly
We gather publicly listed funeral homes, cemeteries, and combo properties from marketplaces and specialist brokers nationwide, normalize the numbers, and always link back to the original source. We don't republish other people's listing content or claim inventory that isn't ours.
Confidentiality is the default
Sellers who come to us directly are shielded everywhere on the platform — locations blurred to the county, identity revealed only by their explicit choice. Introductions relay through us, so nobody's contact details are exposed until both sides agree.
Buyers are qualified
Every member builds an acquisition profile — capital, licensure, target markets, timeline. That profile is what vouches for you when we bring an opportunity to a seller or broker, and it's what keeps this network credible.
Who's behind this
Funeral Succession is a product of Funeral Decisions, Co., which has served the death-care profession since 2008. We aren't newcomers passing through — we've spent well over a decade building software for funeral homes and cemeteries, which is how we learned that the profession's hardest transition is the one nobody advertises.
We know the operators
Funeral Decisions has worked with funeral homes and cemeteries across the country since 2008. That's why the metrics here are the ones your business actually runs on — call volume, cremation rate, preneed backlog — and not the generic multiples a business-brokerage site would show you.
Your inquiry stays here
If you contact us about selling, that stays inside Funeral Succession. It isn't shared with Funeral Decisions' other lines of business, and nothing about your interest reaches anyone who works with your firm on anything else.
What we are not
We are not a licensed business broker, and we don't provide legal, tax, or valuation advice. We're an intelligence and introduction platform — the deal itself stays between you, the other party, and your advisors.
